By the date of this study was carried out, 18 genomes of Prunus s.l. have been assembled, but only two of them were polyploid. This uneven taxonomic representation limits deep phylogenetic reconstruction due to mapping bias. Here, we de novo assembled haplotype-resolved reference genome of P. spinulosa using PacBio HiFi and Hi-C sequencing data to provide the first chromosome-level reference for the Subgen. Laurocerasus. |
