In recent years, accumulating evidence has underscored the critical role of gut microbiome alterations - both in composition and metabolic function - in the pathogenesis of Crohn's disease (CD), influencing intestinal barrier integrity, immune regulation, and fibrotic processes. Nevertheless, the intricate relationship between the gut microbiota and intestinal fibrosis in CD remains poorly understood. This study aims to elucidate the microbiota-fibrosis axis in CD, providing a scientific foundation for the development of novel microbiota-targeted anti-fibrotic therapies. |
