This project utilizes an integrated approach combining PacBio HiFi long-read sequencing, Hi-C mapping, and NGS short-read polishing to generate a high-quality male Kaijiang duck genome assembly. The chromosome-level scaffolding was further achieved by reference-guided RagTag scaffolding based on the Kaijiang female duck genome. This assembly provides a nearly complete chromosomal reference for the Kaijiang male duck, a geographical indication product of Dazhou City, Sichuan Province, China. This genomic resource is pivotal for genomics-assisted breeding of the Kaijiang duck, enabling precise mapping of traits related to growth, disease resistance, and environmental adaptation in the Dazhou region. |
