Title Metagenomic sequencing of Prionailurus bengalensis ( leopard cat ) feces
Relevance Environmental
Data types Raw sequence reads
Sample scope Multispecies
Description Leopard cats (Prionailurus bengalensis) are a small wild cat species found in various regions of Asia, including Shenzhen in southern China. To investigate the population status of leopard cats in Shenzhen and assess their genetic diversity, fecal samples were collected from multiple locations. DNA samples were extracted from these samples and subjected to high-throughput sequencing, allowing for a comprehensive analysis of the leopard cat's metagenomic profile. This study aims to shed light on the genetic diversity within the leopard cat population in Shenzhen and provide recommendations for its conservation.
