描述信息 The aim of this study was to clarify the identity of the "southeastern Europe" lineage of R. sanguineus sensu lato. We show that female ticks that were genetically "southeastern Europe" lineage of R. sanguineus sensu lato correspond to the morphology of R. rutilus Koch, 1844 type material. We characterise the complete mitochondrial genome (mitogenome) of R. rutilus, R. turanicus as well as R. sanguineus sensu stricto to improve our understanding of phylogenetic relationship of species within the Rhipicephalus sanguineus sensu lato species complex.
