Organisms Ctenopharyngodon idella
Description In this project, high throughput sequencing techniques, which include DNA-seq and RNA-seq techniques, is planned to be utilized to investigate the molecular mechanisms leading to different growth rates between grass carp individuals or populations. Target genes will be identified by DNA profiling and transcriptional profiling from samples of different growth rates. These genes will be further mapped into molecular network in the cell and be simulated with mathematical models. Coupling these molecular modules will allow us to figure out the code of high yield in carp, which are the theoretical bases for breeding of carp.
