This sample is an extreme Halophyte Puccinellia tenuiflora individual plant, which was used in genome sequencing. Halophytes can tolerate extremely high salinity levels through mechanisms that differ from those of glycophytes. Unfortunately, few genomic resources are available for determining the salinity tolerance mechanisms of halophytes. Puccinellia tenuiflora, a forage grass, is considered a model halophyte given its strong tolerance for multiple stress conditions and its close genetic relationship with cereals. The genetic information of P. tenuiflora is a potential resource that can be used for improving the salinity tolerance of cereals. Here, we sequenced and assembled the P. tenuiflora genome through the combined strategy. |
