Protocols: Chromatin IPs were conducted with an antibody directed against H3K4me3 (Bethyl Laboratories, #A300-055A) comparable to ChIP experiments described in Woellmer et al (2012) (Woellmer A, Arteaga-Salas JM, Hammerschmidt W (2012) BZLF1 governs CpG-methylated chromatin of Epstein-Barr virus reversing epigenetic repression. The library construction was performed by the company Vertis Biotechnology AG (Freising, Germany) using TrueSeq sequencing adaptors and DNA fragments of 300 to 500 nt in length.
