Title:
Single-cell transcriptomics for cardiomyocytes of human hypertrophic cardiomyopathy
Release date:
2021-03-31
Description:
Hypertrophic cardiomyopathy (HCM) is a common inherited cardiovascular disease. In this study, we performed single-cell RNA-sequencing (scRNA-seq) of 2,115 individual cardiomyocytes obtained from HCM patients (n = 7) and normal controls (n = 2). We identified a large number of genes significantly upregulated in HCM cardiomyocytes, which including genes regulating muscle contraction or relaxation and genes responding to growth factors. Interestingly, the upregulated genes also included typical fibroblast markers and extracellular matrix genes.
