Single Cell Sequencing reveals potentially protective immune properties of COVID-19 infected asymptomatic individuals
Release date:
2021-03-01
Description:
we carried out single cell transcriptomic analyses of PBMCs as well as B/T-Cell Receptor sequencing from COVID-19 infected asymptomatic and symptomatic individuals with mild or severe symptoms at single or multiple times after infection. We observed prolonged generation of anti-COVID-19 IgM antibodies from some of the convalescent patients, even as late as more than 90-days post-infection, suggesting prolonged presence of COVID-19-related antigens. Enrichment of MAIT, and gamma delta T cells appeared to be associated with asymptomatic carriers, suggesting strong innate T cell immunity might be protective against COVID-19-caused damages, which was further supported by samples from additional convalescent individuals with mild or severe symptoms. Innate T cell immunity is a relatively stable feature and could potentially be used to predict a persons clinical manifestation upon COVID-19 infections.
For each controlled access study, there is a corresponding Data Access Committee(DAC) to determine the access permissions. Access to actual data files is not managed by NGDC.
