GORASP2 enhances myometrial contractility during labor by increasing ATP production

Our previous study has showed that autophagy was activated in laboring myometrium, and companied the high expression of Golgi reassembly stacking protein 2 (GORASP2), which was an autophagy-related protein. The GORASP2 in primary human myometrial smooth muscle cells (hMSMCs) was knocked down by siRNA, knockdown of GORASP2 caused reduction of contractility of myometrial cells, which is independent on contraction-associated protein and autophagy. Differential mRNAs were analyzed by RNA-sequencing.
