Title:
Role of CD8 T cells in chronic airway inflammatory diseases
Release date:
2023-09-18
Description:
Chronic rhinosinusitis with nasal polyps (CRSwNP) is a persistent inflammation of the nose and paranasal sinuses. Severe CRSwNP patients often have comorbid asthma and a high rate of recurrence. Antigen-specific memory lymphocytes seemingly provide a memory that might induce disease relapse when medical and surgical interventions are terminated. Reportedly, a predominant Th2 profile in CRSwNP is also associated with recurrence; a link between CRSwNP and asthma might be a skewing of Th2 response. Whether T lymphocytes in CRSwNP can confer the 'memory' for persistent upper airway inflammation or affecting the lower airway inflammation remain unclear. In this study, we used a combination of technique incluiding scRNA seq, scTCR-seq, bulk RNA-seq and bulk TCR-seq, to reveal the role of CD8 T cells in chronic airway inflammatory diseases.
