Hormonal Influence on Sexual Dimorphism in Keratoconus: Insights from Transcriptome Analysis
Release date:
2026-01-31
Description:
Keratoconus (KC) is a degenerative corneal disorder characterized by asymmetric thinning and vision impairment, with its incidence and progression influenced by sex-specific factors. Through whole transcriptome sequencing of corneal samples from male and female KC patients as well as healthy controls, we identified genes exhibiting sex-biased expression and distinct pathways associated with oxidative phosphorylation, endocrine resistance, and axon guidance.
For each controlled access study, there is a corresponding Data Access Committee(DAC) to determine the access permissions. Access to actual data files is not managed by NGDC.
