The muscles samples for DNA extraction were snap frozen in liquid nitrogen and stored at -80 degree before DNA extraction. Genomic DNA was prepared using Genomic DNA Kit following the manufacturer's instructions. At least 10 ug genomic DNA of each sample was used to construct paired-end sequencing libraries, with the insert size of 300-400 base pairs according to Illumina DNA library preparation protocol. Then the libraries were sequenced using Illumina HiSeq 2000 and 4000. |
