Each treatment was replicated for three times. The seeds were surface-sterilized with a 5% sodium hypochlorite solution for 10 minutes, then washed three times with distilled water and placed in a culture box for germination. After 7 days, uniformly sized seedlings were transferred to standard Yoshida's culture solution31. The growth conditions for rice seedlings were set at 16 hours of light and 8 hours of darkness with a temperature of 25\u2103. After 20 days, a 25ml sodium selenite solution with concentrations of 0, 40, 80 and 400 mg/L was sprayed every two days. After 30 days, 16 rice seedlings of equal size for each treatment were selected to measure shoot height and root length. Each treatment was replicated for three times. |
