Function

LINC01567 or LOCCS, has an upregulated expression in colon cancer stem cells. Knockdown of LOCCS reduces cell proliferation, invasion, migration, and generation of tumor xenografts [1]. Also, microRNA-93 (miR-93) and Musashi-1 mediated the tumor suppression of LOCCS knockdown [1]. Reciprocal repression has been observed between LOCCS and miR-93. A predicted miR-93 binding site is identified in LOCCS. This provides important roles of the lncRNA–microRNA functional network in human colon cancer [1].
