Function
NPTN-IT1 inhibits the metastasis of HCC and colorectal cancer cells in vivo.[1] NPTN-IT1 downregulation increase lung colonization, hepatic invasion, and abdominal metastases.[1] The association between NPTN-IT1 and NF90 enhance the degradation of NF90, thereby affecting HIF-1α mRNA accumulation and stability under hypoxic conditions without altering HIF-1α promoter transcriptional activity.[1] NPTN-IT1 expression can decrease the CDC42 and increase the DUSP1 protein levels under normoxic conditions.[1]
Regulation
Under hypoxic conditions,the downregulation of NPTN-IT1 expression is mediated by hypoxia-induced HDAC3.[1]

Compared with the normal primary tissue specimens that were collected from patients with HCC (n = 93), squamous-cell lung carcinoma (n = 10), and colon carcinoma (n = 22), the NPTN-IT1 transcripts were expressed at lower levels in the tumor tissues.[1]
