Annotated Information

lncRNA MELTF-AS1 is upregulated in human osteosarcoma tissues and osteosarcoma cell lines [1].
Knockdown of MELTF-AS1 suppresses osteosarcoma cell proliferation [1].
Correlation between MELTF-AS1 expression level and FOXP4 protein expression in osteosarcoma [1].

Approved Symbol

MELTF-AS1 (MELTF antisense RNA 1)

Previous Symbols

MFI2-AS1

Chromosome

Disease

osteosarcoma

Expression

Compared with corresponding adjacent, histological normal tissues, MELTF-AS1 was significantly upregulated in human osteosarcoma tissues (P<0.0001).[1] FOXP4 protein is upregulated in osteosarcoma tissues and positively correlated with MELTF-AS1 expression.[1]

Function

Knockdown of MELTF-AS1 inhibits osteosarcoma cell migration, invasion and proliferation. However, knockdown of MELTF-AS1 promotes osteosarcoma cell apoptosis in vitro.[1]
