IATPR is a long non-coding RNA and could be a potential biomarker in the prognosis of breast cancer.

Annotated Information

Name

Approved symbol:IATPR

Approved name:ITGB1 adjacent tumor promoting lncRNA

HGNC ID :HGNC:53719

Alias symbol:TCONS_00018476|linc-ITGB1

RefSeq ID:NR_160030

Characteristics

IATPR has a chromosomal location of 10p11.22 (HGNC data).

Function

Functional analysis shows that knockdown of IATPR significantly inhibits gallbladder cancer cell proliferation [1]. IATPR potentially promotes gallbladder cancer invasion and metastasis by accelerating the process of epithelial-to-mesenchymal transition, and the application of RNA interference targeting linc-ITGB1 might be a potential form of gallbladder cancer treatment in advanced cases [1]. IATPR also promotes breast cancer progression by inducing cell cycle arrest and interrupting the epithelial-to-mesenchymal transition process [2].

Regulation

Diseases

  • Breast Cancer (BC) [3] [2]
  • Gall bladder cancer (GBC) [1]

Expression

' The expression level of linc-ITGB1 (IATPR) in 224 pairs of cancerous and matched normal tissue samples [3].

IATPR levels were lower in tumor tissues of BC patients in comparison to adjacent non-cancerous breast tissues (p < 0.001). Linc-ITGB1 expression was significantly associated with lymph node metastasis, pathological differentiation and TNM stage (all p < 0.05) [3]. However, further studies are required to establish lincRNA-ITGB1 expression and clinicopathological features in GBC cases [1].
