Characteristics
PRNT is located in 3 kb downstream of PRND(a gene), and is human homolog of mouse Doppel.[1] The PRNT gene is the nearest gene to PRNP and PRND in humans, and like PRNP and PRND, it has a two-exon structure, but has no detectable sequence homology to them. It is 48% comprised of transposon homologies (LINE-2 and MER elements) [2]
