SMILR
Approved Name
"smooth muscle induced lncRNA, enhancer of proliferation"
Chromosome
8q24.13
RefSeq(supplied by NCBI)
NR_131202
Characteristics
The longest open reading frame(ORF) within SMILR is 57 amino acids.
Expression
SMILR is expressed highest in the heart and it is a differentially expressed lncRNA in human saphenous vein-derived smooth muscle cells [1].
Cellular Localization
SMILR locates in the nucleus and cytoplasm [1].
Function
SMILR regulates the expression of the nearby gene HAS2. Knockdown experiment shows SMILR is a driver gene and can regulate vascular smooth muscle cell proliferation [1].
Regulation
SMILR expression can be regulated by IL1α or PDGF and it is a time-dependent manner [1].
