Characteristics

PARTICL, a promoter of MAT2A-antisense radiation-induced circulating lncRNA and it forms a DNA-lncRNA triplex upstream of a MAT2A promoter CpG island.[1]

Function

PARTICL is a suppressor of MAT2A through triple helix formation and provides a methyltransferase and polycomb repressor complex recruitment platform.[1] Knockdown of PARTICL with lentivirus encoding shRNA_B resulted in an overshoot of MAT2A expression (7.7-fold increase, p = 0.0038) following low-dose (0.25 Gy) irradiation in MDA-MB-361 cells.[1] PARTICL knockdown and irradiation have an additive effect on intracellular and extracellular sam production. [1]

Expression

Exposure to low-dose irradiation causes transiently elevated expression of the long ncRNA PARTICL. [1]
