- HELLP syndrome
Characteristics
HELLPAR is a transcript of 205,012 bases and is localized in early placenta extravillous trophoblasts.[1]
Functions
HELLPAR is involved in 1 or more processes in the cell cycle, in which siRNA-mediated knockdown of the transcript leads to reduced activity of the G2/M phase of the cell cycle, while the G1/S phase shows an increase in activity.[1]
Expression
Expression can be found to be nuclear, perinuclear, and cytoplasmic, both in vitro — in the extravillous trophoblast cell line (SGHPL-5)and in vivo (i.e., first trimester placenta tissue).[1]
