Annotated Information

Approved Symbol

CERNA1 (competing endogenous lncRNA 1 for miR-4707-5p and miR-4767)

LncRNA CERNA1 was upregulated by ABO.[1]
LncRNA LOC100129973 regulated the expression of miR-4707-5p and miR-4767 by directly binding with them.[1]

Characteristics

CERNA1 is a 1520bp length validated long noncoding RNA. It locates in chromosome 15 (21.1) and antisense to guanine nucleotide binding protein, beta 5 (GNB5) and myosin VC (MYO5C). [1] CERNA1 is only found in Homo sapiens.[1]

Expression

CERNA1 wis upregulated by ABO treatment in a dose- and time -dependent manner.

Disease

cardiovascular disease

Function

CERNA1 suppresses apoptosis by targeting miR-4707-5p and miR-4767 in vascular endothelial cells.[1]
