NNT-AS1:NNT antisense RNA 1
Characteristics
NNT-AS1 is a newly detected lncRNA, which located in 5p12 with 3 exons and transcribed in the opposite direction of nicotinamide nucleotide transhydrogenase (NNT). However, there is no overlap between NNT-AS1 and NNT.[1]
Function
Silencing NNT-AS1 can inhibit cell proliferation, colony formation, cell cycle and suppress tumor growth and metastasis in vivo. In addition, silencing NNT-AS1 can attenuate EMT and MAPK/Erk signaling pathway in CRC(Colorectal cancer cell) cells. The knockdown of NNT-AS1 can inhibit CRC migration and invasion in vitro.[1]
Expression
The expression of NNT-AS1 is significantly higher in the cancerous tissues than that in the adjacent normal tissues.[1]
