MAPT-AS1 has an inhibitory effect on the expression of a major neurodegenerative gene, MAPT. MAPT-AS1 may serve as a sensitive biomarker of disease state in Parkinson’s disease, as well as a potential therapeutic target for inhibiting the expression of MAPT. [2]
