TNRC6C-AS1 is a competitive endogenous virus residing on chromosome 17q25.3 [1].

Function

TNRC6C-AS1 influenced the progression of TC through regulating UNC5B expression as a competing endogenous RNA (ceRNA) of miR-129-5p [1]. TNRC6C-AS1 downregulation could suppress the viability and mobility of TC cells as well as inhibit tumorigenesis [1]. TNRC6C-AS1 could competitively bind to miR-129-5p as a ceRNA and upregulate the expression of UNC5B, a target gene of miR-129-5p. Therefore, the downregulation of TNRC6C-AS1 could silence UNC5B, thus suppress TC development [1]. TNRC6C-AS1 and UNC5B might be potential targets for TC treatment [1].

LncRNA TNRC6C-AS1 and UNC5B were overexpressed while miR-129-5p was downregulated in TC [1].
