LncRNA LINC00637 (HIF-1α inhibitor at translation level),an inhibitor of ATM activation, and HIF-1α form an autoregulatory feedback loop where HIF-1α destabilizes LINC00637 by inducing MiR-205, which directly targets LINC00637 for degradation.

Annotated Information

Name

Approved symbol:LINC00637 Approved name:long intergenic non-protein coding RNA 637

HGNC ID:HGNC:27069

Alias symbol:LINC00637

RefSeq ID:NR_038436

Characteristics

LINC00637 titrates away YB-1 from the 5'-UTR of HIF-1α mRNA via a high-stringency YB-1-binding motif.[1]

Function

LINC00637-HIF-1α axis as constituting an additional layer of regulation of angiogenesis and tumor growth, with potential implications for therapeutic targeting.[1]. HTTT has a potential roles in sensitizing cancers to genotoxic treatment.[2].

Regulation

LINC00637 inhibits HIF-1α expression, mainly by interfering with its translation.[1]

Expression

Restoration of the expression of LINC00637 in cancer cells inhibits angiogenesis and tumor growth in vivo in an HIF-1α-dependent manner.[1]

Diseases

colon cancer[1]
