Function

Probable competing endogenous RNA (ceRNA). KRASP1 is hypothesised to act as a decoy for miRNAs targeting KRAS, similar to how PTENP1 acts a decoy for PTEN (Poliseno (2010)). Expression of the KRASP1 3'UTR sequence lead to de-repression of KRAS mRNA levels and increased cellular proliferation (Poliseno (2010)).
