MINCR, short for MYC-induced long noncoding RNA, is a novel player in MYC transcriptional network, with the potential to open new therapeutic windows in the fight against maglignant lymphoma and, possibly, all cancers that rely on MYC expression.

Transcriptomic Nomeclature
MINCR: MYC-induced long noncoding RNA [1] LINC01604, "long intergenic non-protein coding RNA 1604"[1]
Characteristics
The MINCR gene, which is located on chromosome 8q24.3 and intergenic to the two coding genes GLI4 and ZNF696, has a long transform composed of three exons. It is ubiquitously expressed, with the highest expression values in brain, prostate, and testis [1].
Function
MINCR could interplay with transcriptor MYC to co-regulate the expression level of a group of genes involved in cell cycle initiation and progression [1].
Disease
Burkitt lymphoma
Regulation
MINCR is found to be induced by MYC in not only restricted to B cell line but in MYC-regulated retinal pigment epithelial cell line hT-RPE-MycER [1].
Expression
MINCR strongly correlates with MYC expression in not only BL but more in general, GC-derived MYC-positive lymohomas and other cancer types, like pancreastic ductal adenocarcinomas, that are known to rely on MYC expression[1].

Evolution
MINCR is conserved throughout primates, with the exception of Galago, but not in other vertebrates [1].
