Haplotypes of pan-genes were classified based on their protein sequences. Haplotypes shared across different heterotic groups were merged according to a predefined priority order (see https://doi.org/10.1186/s13059-023-03017-5 for details).
Specifically, Hap1 corresponds to Tropical, Hap2 to Lancaster, Hap3 to the P group, Hap4 to Reid, Hap5 to IDT, and HapR represents haplotypes that are not predominant in any heterotic group.
