Description This study aimed to investigate the associations among non-cholesterol lipid components, local coronary inflammation, and the severity of coronary lesions in a diabetic population with CAD, to provide new insights into the management of residual CAD risk in patients with T2DM. This study included 176 participants with diabetes from the GADA study, all of whom underwent both coronary computed tomography angiography (CCTA) and coronary angiography (CAG). Lipidomic profiling was performed on peripheral blood plasma through untargeted liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry (LC-MS). We identified three lipid molecular species significantly associated with pericoronary adipose tissue (PCAT) inflammation and CAD severity, which may serve as novel biomarkers and potential therapeutic targets for coronary artery disease in patients with T2DM.
