YAP1 is a key oncogene in colorectal cancer (CRC), but its role in cholesterol metabolism remains unclear. To investigate this, we performed RNA-seq analysis on YAP1 knockdown and control HCT116 cells. Our results show that YAP1 knockdown leads to downregulation of cholesterol biosynthesis and uptake genes, including SREBP2, HMGCR, and LDLR, accompanied by reduced cholesterol levels and lipid droplet accumulation. These findings reveal that YAP1 promotes CRC progression by reprogramming cholesterol metabolism. |
