| Description | Gastric and gastroesophageal junction (G/GEJ) cancer, ranking the fifth for incidence and fourth for mortality worldwide, has limited treatment options with median overall survival (OS) of only about one year in advanced stage. This phase 3 study was aimed to evaluate sintilimab or placebo combined with capecitabine and oxaliplatin, as first-line treatment in Chinese patients with previously untreated advanced, recurrent, or metastatic G/GEJ adenocarcinoma. 650 patients were randomised 1:1 to sintilimab or placebo plus chemotherapy. The results showed firs-line treatment with sintilimab plus chemotherapy significantly improved OS for the overall study population. |
