RiceWiki, a component of ScienceWikis, is a wiki-based, publicly editable and open-content platform for community curation of rice genes, viz., a community-curated resource of rice knowledge. Unlike conventional biological databases based on expert curation (e.g., NCBI RefSeq), RiceWiki harnesses community intelligence in rice knowledge curation and rewards community-curated efforts by quantifying contributions for each contributed user and providing explicit authorship for each curated gene.
