Function

IAA(indole-3-acetic acid) is important during starch deposition in addition to its previously suggested role early in grain development. And IAA production in developing rice grains is controlled via expression of OsTAR1,OsYUC9 and OsYUC11. That is to say, OsYUC9, OsYUC11 and OsTAR1 are IAA biosynthesis genes during the rice grain development. The research notes that IAA content increase by 50-fold correlated with a large increase in the expression of OsYUC9 and OsYUC11. In conclusion, Os01g0273800(RAP-DB), OsYUC9, is a kind of IAA biosynthesis gene.
