OsABF1 expression in seeding shoot and root was induced by all kinds of abiotic stress such as oxygen deficit, salt, drought, oxidation, cold and ABA,but undetectable expression when untreated.OsABF1 is a nuclear protein, which can combine the ABA responsive elements(ABREs),and the N-terminal region is necessary for trans-activating report gene of downstream. Compared with the wide type, the homozygous for the T-DNA insertion mutant gene Osabf1-1 and Osabf1-2 are more sensitive to drought and salt treatment,in addition, some gene that upregulated ABA stress regulating responsive gene under ABA treatment was suppressed in Osabf1 mutant. Therefore,OsABF1 is involved in rice abiotic stress responses and ABA signaling.

Annotated Information

Function

bZIP transcription factor OsABF1 is an ABA response element combination factor, which can enhance signal transduction of abiotic stress in rice. The bZIP transcription factors are considered playing a role in stress signaling of plant.OsABF1 is a gene which as combination factor to response abscisic acid , and encoding bZIP transcription factors.Therefore,OsABF1 is involved in rice abiotic stress responses and ABA signaling.
