*The researchers used the Illumina sequencing to perform deep transcriptome sequencing to compare the genome-wide differential expression between salt-treatment and normal condition DXWR at the seedling stage. Through identifying potential candidate genes involved in the salt stress response in DXWR, this work may provide useful information and potential genetic resources for the improvement of salt-tolerant characters in rice. Furthermore, this study may provide a starting point for the elucidation of the molecular mechanism underlying the salt stress response in DXWR.

After the seedlings had been grown for 14 days, they were transferred on their 96-well plates into containers filled with 200 mM NaCl solution, or with control solution for 12 days.
