Transcription factor IDEF1 early response to iron deficiency in rice necessary to express the late vegetative stage embryos while rich protein gene induction. Higher plants by regulating the expression of genes related to iron to maintain the plants get iron homeostasis of body iron content. IDEF1 to adjust the response of rice to iron deficiency by identifying the response CATGC sequence cis-elements IDE1. Medium to induce the expression of iron-deficiency treatment IDEF and suppress the expression of the two types of transgenic plants was found, and induce the expression of plant IDEF1 compared to suppress the expression of plant IDEF1 early iron deficiency is very sensitive.

Quantitative RT-PCR for the early treatment of iron deficiency was found at each time point for analysis, IDEF1 expression of genes associated with the use of iron as OsIRO2, OsYSL15, OsIRT1, OsYSL2, OsNAS1, OsNAS2, OsNAS3, OsDMAS1 expression was positively correlated, however, in dealing with the this positive late correlation is not obvious. Microarray analysis and information indicating that these genes are upregulated by IDEF1, especially in the early treatment of iron deficiency, such as the promoter region of the gene sequence and the like contain CATGC IDE1 elements. These results suggest that plants respond to iron deficiency early and late stage presence stress response process, which IDEF1 involved in the early response process. By IDEF1 regulated gene promoter also contains regulate seed maturation cis-elements RY (CATGCA) required for gene expression. Some late embryogenesis abundant protein coding genes such as Osem, their expression in iron plant roots and / or leaves are induced, while expression is dependent on IDEF1, described IDEF1 in the regulation of seed maturation-related genes in vegetative organs of iron deficiency expression function (Kobayashi et al., 2007 & 2009).

Function

Please input function information here.

IDEF1 ABI3/VP1 is a plant-specific transcription factor protein, with the iron deficiency response cis-elements IDE1 the CATGC sequence binding. In the early treatment of iron deficiency, IDEF1 expression of these genes by binding to iron absorption and utilization of the relevant gene promoter elements regulate the CATGC mediated early plant response to iron deficiency (Kobayashi et al., 2007 & 2009).By IDEF1 regulate gene promoter also contains the necessary regulation of gene expression in seed maturation cis-elements CATGCA.
