Annotated Information
Gene Symbol
- Os06g0147800 <=> OsMKK1,MKK1
Function
- OsMKK1 was markedly increased by salt stress.
- OsMKK1-knockout (osmkk1) mutant was more sensitive to salt stress than the wild type.
- OsMKK1 constitute a signaling pathway that regulates salt stress tolerance in rice.
Expression
- To determine the transcript profile of the rice MPKKs gene in response to salt stress, the relative mRNA level of seven MPKK family genes were analyzed using qRT-PCR over an 8-h period salt treatment.
- In 2-week-old seedlings, the transcript of six out of seven OsMKKs (except OsMMK10-1) responded to salt stress. The most pronounced and fast effect was observed in case of OsMKK1 gene which increased more than 6-fold after 1 h and then graduallydecreased to around 3-fold after 4 h of 200 mM NaCl treatment.
