Expression

  • The researchers obtained nine positive Oscyp71Z2-RNAi lines to suppress Oscyp71Z2 transcripts in japonica cultivar Nipponbare. None of these plants showed a significant difference in response to PXO99 A infection compared with the wild-type plants (Fig. 2C; Fig. 3A, B).
  • Suppression of Oscyp71Z2 did not significantly increase susceptibility to PXO99 A in Oscyp71Z2-RNAi lines. Functional redundancy among the family members may impair the effect of partial Oscyp71Z2 expression levels.
  • Furthermore, 356 putative P450 genes have been identified in the rice genome, another P450 gene perhaps functioned as Oscyp71Z2.
