Function

  • Rurm1 is a gene encoding ubiquitin-like protein markedly enhances the transposition activity of a MITE mPing in intact rice plants without any exogenous stresses.

Expression

  • Real-time PCR using specific primers for Rurm1 (5 0 -CTGGGAGCTATGCGGTGG-3 and 5-CGT-GTAATGTGGAGATAAAAACAACA-3 0 ) revealed that Rurm1 expressed in all organs through all developmental stages, although the root showed the lowest transcript level of Rurm1 at all developmental stages (Fig. 1).
  • Moreover, it was found that Rurm1 most actively expressed in the meristem at 30 d after sowing (DAS).
