- OsObgC is required for leaf greening during rice growth

- OsObgC1 null mutants (obgc1-d1 and obgc1-t) exhibited no embryonic lethality but they did exhibit a severe chlorotic phenotype during early leaf development (Figure 2Ba,d), similar to that of the Arabidopsis AtObgC RNAi mutants.
- In addition, an OsObgC1 knockdown (obgc1-d2) mutant exhibited partially chlorotic phenotypes (Figure 2Bb,c).
- However, when all the three obgc1 alleles were continually grown on MS medium containing sucrose they showed no recovery of a normal phenotype, unlike the AtObgC RNAi mutants.
