PGR5(PROTON GRADIENT REGULATION 5)gene is required for Rice photosystem I(PSI) cyclic electron transpor.The fucntions of PGR5 as follow:

1.Cyclic electron transfer,which is depending on PGR5,helps to restore the balance of the oxidation of chloroplasts.

2.PGR5 plays an key role in maintaining reduction capability the iron oxide-dependent protein bodies quinone when the rice chloroplast damage.
