Annotated Information
Function
To identify potential downstream genes regulated by Ehd3, we then examined the transcript levels of seven flowering-related genes (Ehd3, RID1/OsId1/Ehd2, Ghd7, OsMADS50, Ehd1, Hd3a and RFT1) by means of quantitative RT-PCR. Because both the wild-type plants and the ehd3 mutants carry a defective allele of Hd1 (Matsubara et al., 2008), we omitted the analysis of Hd1 in this experiment. Leaf samples were collected from 21- to 30-day-old plants grown under SD and LD conditions, respectively. The developmental stages of these plants were roughly 40 days before flowering and at floral induction in the wild-type plant.
