Function
This gene encodes an lipolytic enzyme(lipase) involved in the degradation of fat,which will form fatty acids, glycerol and monoglyceride or diacylglycerol.[1]lipolytic enzyme perform essential roles in the digestion, transport and processing of dietary lipids (e.g. triglycerides, fats, oils) in most, if not all, living organisms. Genes encoding lipases are even present in certain viruses.[2][3]
