研究人员从水稻籼稻品种93-11中克隆并鉴定了控制水稻籼粳分类的基因并将其命名为PHR1。转基因功能互补实验证明PHR1是区分水稻籼粳分类的基因。在水稻中抑制或过量表达PHR1,得到具不同抗病虫害能力的转基因水稻,表明可以利用基因工程技术调控该基因从而调节植物抗性。
