【Functions】

Bph9, is a dominant brown planthopper resistance gene, locating on the long arm of rice chromosome 12. Bph9 was first identified in a Sri Lankan variety by Nemoto (Nemoto et al. 1989). Then map position of BPH turned out to be on the long arm of rice chromosome 12, which is discovered by Murata in 2000 ( Murata et al. 2000).
