Function

IAA(indole-3-acetic acid)is important during starch deposition in addition to its previously suggested role early in grain development. OsYUC9, is a kind of IAA biosynthesis gene. OsYUC9 and its encoded enzymes may have a role in the starch deposition phase in rice grains.

Expression

The expression of OsYUC9 is localized primarily in the endosperm. In the developing grains, OsYUC9 is co-expressed with OsTAR1 both temporally and spatially. Analysis of gene co-expressiong between TAA/TAR, endosperm related YUCCAs and OsTDC1 and its orthologues.OsYUC9 is always co-expressed gene.The table bellow was downloaded via PLEXdb (http://www.plexdb.org) , and it is about RMA nomalized expression data from reproductive tissue in microarray expriments OS5, OS32, OS8 (rice), AT40 (Arabidopsis thaliana) and ME1 (Medicago truncatula), the pearson correlation coefficient (r) and slope were calculated in Excel and used to derive the statistical significance of the correlation[1].
