Disease Description: Hair loss occurring in certain patterns. Common in dachshunds.

Disease Symptom: Aside from the areas of hair loss, your dog's coatwill be normal.There is usually no discomfort associated with this condition.

Disease Cause: -

Disease Diagnose: The condition is diagnosed through clinicalexamination and rulingout other causes of hair loss.

Treat Method: There is no treatment to reverse the hair loss.

Breeder Advice: It is preferable not to breed affected dogs.Recognition of thisproblem by breed clubs of American water spaniels and Portuguese waterdogs has alreadyreduced the frequency of saddle alopecia.
